PROFILE Abdoulaye El-Aziz KANE has been in mining industries for four years in Mineral Processing and Production specifically in Gold extraction, he is a Metallurgist at the SOMISY Syama Gold Mine in Mali West Africa. He has a Bachelor Degree and Diploma of Engineering in Industrial Chemistry; he was graduated from the Russian Institute of Mendeleev in 2007. Having worked in Russia in plastics processing, rubber polymer research, metals processing, electrolysis/electroplating whilst studying upon return to Mali worked as a Chemist in the CATERPILLAR lubricant analysis laboratory in Bamako Mali. After joining the SOMISY Metallurgy Graduate program Syama Gold Mine in Mali in 2009 was employed as a graduate metallurgist there initially and then as a Metallurgist at Syama in 2011. Whilst in Russia gained fluency in Russian to complement fluency in English, French, Lingala, minor Swahili, Tshiluba and learning Bambara, good computer literate with extensive practical experience. FIELD OF COMPETENCE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 1. From the 23rd of May 2009 up to now: Metallurgist at SOMISY Gold Mine (RESOLUTE). Duties: • Metallurgical account and data entry; • Conduct Metallurgical tests including flotation tests, leaching; • Assisting in the process of training and staff development; • Maintain reporting on production by preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports as required; • Be responsible for the monthly metallurgical balance; • Adjust and monitor key plant operating parameters; • Troubleshoot unusual results or unsatisfactory metallurgical performance; • Maintain and improve metallurgical plant performance in the areas of crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration, roasting, CIL, elution, electrowinning and smelting; • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures and promote site safety policies; • Liaise with operations and maintenance; • Provide technical support for the plant operators and assist them in working safely; • Operate in the area of the crusher, worked as a field and control room operator; • Operate in the area of ball mill, follow the sampling, ensuring the smooth operation of the mills and grinding optimization. • At flotation, process optimization targeting high Gold recovery and minimum losses of Gold to tails. • At CIL circuit, optimization of reagents and density control. • Control of Elution process and samples to be taken from the acid wash to electrowinning. • Worked as control room operator
